Golf at Sun City centres around two very different Gary Player-designed courses. The Gary Player Country Club is the home of the Nedbank Golf Challenge and remains one of South Africa's most recognised championship layouts. The course is walking-only, with caddies forming an important part of the experience. The Lost City Golf Course offers a contrasting round through rocky, undulating bushveld. Its best-known feature is the par-three 13th hole, where the green is bordered by a water hazard containing live crocodiles. Between rounds, guests can enjoy Sun City's hotels, restaurants, spa facilities, entertainment and the Valley of Waves. The variety of resort activities makes the destination a practical choice for couples and groups with a mix of golfers and non-golfers.

Pilanesberg National Park lies on Sun City's doorstep and offers a convenient way to combine championship golf with a genuine Big Five safari. Morning and afternoon game drives can be arranged with experienced guides in open safari vehicles. Guests may also explore the park by self-drive, while other options include guided bush walks and hot-air balloon safaris. A round of golf and an afternoon game drive can comfortably be included on the same day, although a longer stay allows more time to enjoy both courses, the resort and the Pilanesberg wildlife experience.
